Maintenance

Took apart the control panels, since I couldn’t get either to do anything. The optics were waterlogged. Once I got that dried up, the spinners actually registered something. Spinners turn rough. Disassembled one and used some petroleum jelly on the moving parts. Smoother. I would have used lithium grease, but […]

Not Another One…

A week ago yesterday I brought this home with me. I saw it advertised on Craigslist under a yard sale ad as just ‘arcade game’. Emailed him about it, found it was a cocktail (!!!) and he only wanted $60 for it. Drove down, started @ 6am. Got lost in […]

Almost done!

97% done. Still needs: back door painted back door lock cam extended Happ buttons. The ones that are on there now *suck* I had it out on the porch last Halloween. Kids went CRAZY over it. Had it set to play just Ghosts and Goblins (for Halloween…heh) but swapped it […]

Changed site title

Since I’ve added actual arcade hardware to the projects, I’ve changed the name of the site from ‘Mame Cabinet Projects’ to ‘Arcade Game Projects’.

Xenophobe

Added Xenophobe to my list of projects. Unlike most of my other projects, this is actually shaping up quickly. Likely due to the fact that it’s in the workshop that I have at my job.

Power Supply

I pulled the original PS to see why there wasn’t any 12V on the dedicated audio line. Was pretty easy to figure out; someone intentionally removed a critical component so it wouldn’t work. Guessing so it wouldn’t die under load.

The Joysticks

Andy tracked down the problem earlier today: bum power supply. It wasn’t putting out 12V on the dedicated line to the Sounds Good board. Quick swap with a Peter Chou and viola! My Xenophobe has sound. Now to source out the triggers and joystick bolts. Anyone know if this is […]

It works!

Had a little slack time at work today. Decided to tackle the gouges taken out of the board and patch them up. Got a couple of the easier ones by bridging the gap with solder. The others were too wide. Andy is far better at this than I am (much […]
