My first intention was going to be to use an old 486 to power this, but after compiling <a target=_top href=\"http:\/\/x.mame.net\/\">xmame<\/a>, I found that the little 486 that could, well, <i>couldn&#8217;t<\/i>.  Perhaps it&#8217;s because of the processor I&#8217;m using (a <a target=_top href=\"http:\/\/www.cyrix.com\">Cyrix<\/a> 486 DX\/2 80) and if I used an <a target=_top href=\"http:\/\/www.amd.com\">AMD<\/a> 486\/133 it&#8217;s surely be much faster.<\/p>\n<p>But, after careful consideration, I&#8217;ve decided to use my trusty P.O.S. <a target=_top href=\"http:\/\/www.pcchips.com.tw\">PC Chips<\/a> TX Pro.  It&#8217;s not being used for anything, and will run cocktail games just fine, AFAIK.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<a href=\"txpro.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\".\/images\/txpro-s.jpg\" width=\"100\" height=\"125\"><\/a><br \/>\n<br \/>\n<font face=\"verdana\" size=\"-2\">PC Chips TX Pro<\/font><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>For sound we&#8217;ll be using a <a target=_top href=\"http:\/\/www.creativelabs.com\">Creative Labs<\/a> Soundblaster 16 PNP, which works quite well.  There has been a driver for this in the Linux Kernel forever, so it&#8217;s quite unbuggy.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<a href=\"sb.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\".\/images\/sb-s.jpg\" width=\"100\" height=\"47\"><\/a><br \/>\n<font face=\"verdana\" size=\"-2\">Soundblaster 16 PNP<\/font><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>The video card I&#8217;m thinking of using is a no-name S3-Virge, with 4 Megs of RAM on board.
